Enriched with Vitamins & Minerals
Aquamin Calcium is important for making our bones and teeth strong and for maintaining healthy gums. Milk, milk products, fish, seafood and green leafy vegetables are good sources of calcium.
Our range contains Aquamin Lithothamnion Calcareum , a patented natural bioavailable organic calcium source produced from mineralised seaweed, also rich in magnesium as well as 70 other trace minerals such as zinc, copper, boron, manganese and silicon, all of which have important functions in the human body.
Vitamin C is needed for proper growth, development, and to heal wounds. It is used to make the collagen tissue for healthy teeth, gums, blood vessels and bones. Since vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant, it is also used to prevent damage to our bodies.
We can get good sources of vitamin C from citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons, limes and grapefruit; vegetables such as green and red peppers, spinach, winter squash, tomatoes, broccoli, and potatoes (sweet and white); and fruit such as strawberries, mangos, cantaloupe and grapes.
Iron is an important dietary mineral that is involved in various bodily functions, including the transport of oxygen in the blood. This is essential in providing energy for daily life. Good sources of iron include red meat, offal, spinach, beans, eggs, dried fruits, legumes and whole breads and iron-fortified breakfast cereals.
Our range contains our unique and patented 100% bioavailable to body iron supplement.
Vitamin D strengthens our bones and teeth as it helps in absorption of calcium and phosphorus.
There are a few naturally occurring food sources of Vitamin D – fatty fish, fish liver oils and egg yolks. Fortified foods such as milk, margarine and some cereals comprise most of our dietary Vitamin D intake. From diet alone, children and adults would need to drink 1.5 L of milk per day to meet their Vitamin D needs.
Other than food, sunlight is also a very good source of vitamin D. When exposed to sunlight a substance is formed in our skin that gets converted into vitamin D.
Because of today’s increased in-door activities and the extensive use of sun screens the incidence of Vitamin D deficiency is growing as is reported in many medical journals.
